DIY: CROCHET A SCOODIE

Hello, team yarnkara and positivity, we are back! I am sure you all have new resolutions set for this year, I hope knitting, crocheting and positive thinking is among the resolutions set.
Today I will be letting you in on a very simple project about crocheting a scoodie. A scoodie is a scarf with a hoodie. It is a simple beginner’s project worked with the double crochet stitch.

Scoodies can keep you very warm during cold seasons. They are also stylish and can be worn across all ages. They also do not discriminate against gender.

YARN TO USE.
For the brown scoodie I used Robin yarn and for the grey one I used two shades of grey Knit Me yarn.
Make sure you have atleast two balls of 100gm yarn for this project.

The project is worked in rounds, forming a continous loop. I used a size 6 mm crochet hook for both projects.

OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED.
A pair of scissors.
A darning needle.

THE PATTERN.
The pattern for this project varies depending on the age and gender of the person you are making the scoodie for.
The size of needles and type of yarn you use will also alter the pattern. Therefore before beginning the project, measure the width of the neck area of the person in question then make a gauge swatch to find out how many stitches you need to go round the neck of the person in question twice.

For the grey scoodie I had a total of 200 stitches for my foundation chain and for the brown one I had a total of 150 stitches.

After working your foundation chain, slip stitch to the first stitch you made to form a loop then chain 3 stitches and work 1 double crochet stitch in each remaining stitch.
Repeat this for another 15-20 rows then bind off.

Select one end of your project where you want your hoodie to be then count twenty stitches on both sides and join them using the whip stitch. Your project is now complete. Weave in your loose ends using your darning needle and you are good to go.

  1. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate it.
