For this project, you’ll need the following materials;
A size 4mm crochet hook for the brim of the hat.
A size 4.5mm crochet hook for the body of the hat.
100 gms yarn of preferred colour and size.
A darning needle.
A measuring tape.
A pair of scissors.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Crochet in the round.
STICHES USED
Single crochet (SC)
To begin your project, make a chain of 84 stitches using your size 4mm crochet hook then slip stitch at the end to join. This will form a ring. Make sure your stitches are aligned properly before joining.
THE BRIM
Single crochet in each stitch around working on the back loops only so as to form a rugged pattern.
Repeat this for 10 to 15 rows.
THE BODY
Switch to the size 4.5 mm crochet hook then work one single crochet in each stitch around, now working normally.
Repeat this until your hat reaches the required height then switch to the darning needle and pass your yarn through all the stitches and pull tight.
Repeat that one more time then weave in your loose ends and your project is complete
